When we bought this beautiful 135+southern farmhouse,I just knew I'd spend the rest of my life here.
For the last 16 years I've lovingly restored the house, gardens and made keepsakes from old collectables I've found in the barn, & on the grounds !
The "jungle of a yard" has been restored to its
beauty and many heirloom perennials and herbs have been saved and many added to. All of the yards and gardens are organic. That in itself takes much work and at least 5 years to accomplish.
In June of 2009,my husband of 31 years decided to leave and wanted a divorce.I was not aware that SC had passed such unfair marital laws. He had many debts I was unware of. According to the law I have to pay 1/2 of his debts and the judge ordered the house sold, all his debts paid,then the balance divided. Well!!!!!
Houses aren't selling and I don't want to leave!
At 71 years old it is hard to start over. Have been trying to get him to cooperate with a reverse mortgage, but he has unreasonable terms.
I'm asking my many friends across the US
to donate to a fund to help me raise the money
to pay him off. I need to raise $85,000 to pay off his debts and give him an equable amount, as ordered by the judge.
Also, have an elderly aunt to care for and, a brain
damaged son( car wreck).
